From the mid 1930s onwards, the television has been used to broadcast visual entertainment to the masses. The television props shown here, are all CRT based rather than the 'flat' screens of today. Up until the early 1970s most televisions in the UK displayed the picture in black and white, but by the 1980s most televisions displayed colour.
