Props for hire
Video recorders were mostly used in broadcast and education until the mid 1970s, due to the sheer cost. Domestic use became popular in about 1978 as they were offered by TV rental companies. The infamous standards battle between VHS, Betamax & V2000 then ensued with VHS winning due to clever marketing. VCRs remained popular until the rise of the DVD in the mid 2000s.
The video recorder props shown here are a small selection of our hire stock and, with exception of items new prior to 1972, all are suitable for domestic scenes. Please contact us for more details on the correct prop for the scene.
